SOCIAL ACTIVITY

In a year, approximately 200,000 meters of denim off-cuts, equivalent to two laps around the earth, are disposed. EDWIN considered ways of utilizing these disposed materials, and came up with the "DENIM-no-MIMI project".

DENIM-no-MIMI Project

Denim off-cuts come from the process of weaving denim fabrics. EDWIN participates in the DENIM-no-MIMI Project for effectively utilizing these disposed materials. It supports the creative activities of artists and designers using the off-cuts, and hopes to convey the value of manufacturing by encouraging children to foster their interest in the value of things and environmental issues.

Recycling of remnants at EDWIN shops

Remnants resulting from tailoring are used in producing denim aquariums, art objects such as trees and denim soccer balls. EDWIN is actively participating in recycling in close cooperation with many businesses and the general public.

CSM-2000® Certification

CSM-2000® is an integrated management system, which ensures that a company is complying with the requirements of the law and the market in all of its business activities including the supply of materials and products. In 2005, Jeans MCD, EDWIN's flagship factory, became the first factory in Japan to obtain the certification.
